Another Face That Hides...

Another Face That Hides...

It happened to me a few days ago.As par my daily schedule, it is the time for me to leave the office after evening tea. One of my friend was waiting for me outside the office, she was there to give me lift to my home. We met and skipping the idea to go to home directly we headed towards McD. It was there , the thought came to my mind that we live in a prententious, polished &overly sophisticated world created by ourselves but i allowed the thought to slip away.
After that as i was taking a lift with her. She is well cultivated , sweetness personafied, chatting away with me- till her driver took a wrong turn. Then , she screams at the driver questioning his consciousness & berating him. It  takes a moment for her 'ugly' face to switch back into the pleasant one you know, but a lifetime for you to forget!
Now, that the thought at McD, recovers from the neglected part of my mind. Hell Yeah! we live in a world of sophisticated, well behaved cultivated persona, Have you ever witnessed a gentleman with cultivated tones and a sensitive attitude, suddenly turn around, shouts badly at his secretary or peon, before turning back to you and resuming his cultivated persona? In that split second that he lets his another face to reveal, you have witnessed him do irreparable damage to the hours of build-up he executed for you.

The question is why we let our  anger only against those who cannot retaliate? Or, unleash the demons within us when we imagine nobody is looking?  It is said every society is judged by how it treats the least fortunate amongst them. For the true touchstone of our character is the way we treat those less fortunate than us, not our equals and superiors.

How can intentions and character be tested till you have actually been faced with temptation? And, so if a man who plays a sensitive , well mannered corporate but ill-treats the peon outside his office room. it is the latter for which he should be judged not the former..!The truth lies not in the spic and span marble flooring but in the dust that has been swept under the carpet.

we all have two faces, the good one and the bad one...The true test of character is not the existence of the bad one but in your ability to suppress it even when no one is there to look or judge...!
